Wonder Woman's Giant Painting Is A Modern Masterpiece

If you’ve seen Wonder Woman, you’ll remember that at the start of the movie, a young Diana has her history explained to her via an enormous painting. Here’s a very good look at that image, courtesy of the artists who worked on it.

And yes, that’s plural: it took a bunch of artists to put this together and bring it to life, with a team comprised of:

Art Direction: Raffy Ochoa, Houston Sharp

Mt. Olympus design/panel stitching: Houston Sharp

Individual Panels: Houston Sharp, Igor Sid, Piotr Jablonski (who we’ve featured here before for his work on games like Dishonored 2), Yuriy Chemezov, Roman Kupriyanov, Eve Ventrue, Max Schulz, Didier Konings, Raffy Ochoa

Studio: Aaron Sims Creative

The painting wasn’t all done at once; instead, different artists worked on each section of it independently, then the whole thing was stitched together at the end to create a single giant image.

Below you can see not just the full and final painting from the movie, but detailed shots of each individual section. What’s cool is that some of them—some of the best of the bunch, if I’m honest—didn’t make the final cut for the film, so this is the first time you’re seeing them.
