Tokyo Comes To Life With Charming Illustrations

Japanese illustrator Shinji Tsuchimochi has been working on a series of one hundred drawings of Tokyo. They depict different places and aspects of the metropolis in a breezy and throughly charming style.

As Spoon and Tamago points out, between 1826 and 1833, artist Katsushika Hokusai did thirty-six views of Mount Fuji. Taking inspiration from Hokusai, Tsuchimochi has been working on the series for the past few months. It’s now drawing to a close, but here are some of my favorites.

You can follow Tsuchimochi on Facebook here and check out more of his work here.
