One would think an easter egg that involves eating delicious-looking cake would have been uncovered within the first few days of Assassin’s Creed Unity’s release, but no. It took a year and change for this Unity secret to be revealed, and the payoff is quite delicious.
Players have been eating Unity’s cake since its November 2014 launch—they just weren’t eating all of it. Ubisoft Montreal has been hinting at there being more to the baked goods than met the mouth since last August. Now Brett from UbiCentral (via Reddit) has finally found all five and reaped the sweet rewards.
That’s right, five pink-frosted cakes are hidden throughout Assassin’s Creed Unity. Eat all five of them and a special surprise awaits the stuffed player in the courtyard of the Palais de Luxembourg.
If the man atop the cake looks familiar, that’s because he’s the Marquis De Bullion, the target in the 2014 E3 co-op gameplay demo mission—a mission that didn’t show up in the game proper. A bit pissed about having his head chopped off in what turned out to be a standalone demo, he’s back, full of health and coin.
Try to perform this battle in the nighttime, as the celebration that follows benefits from the darkness.
Here’s Brett showing us where to go and what to do.
