It's not that Far Cry 4's version of The Himalayas is ugly, far from it, but just look at this.

The map was made by artist Simon Barle of DICE, who also worked on the most recent Battlefield. It's an Unreal Engine 4 recreation the real-life Huangshan mountain range, and it was finished late last month after some extensive tweaking based on feedback from the project's Polycount forum thread. I can easily see myself grappling to the top of that spire to hunt down and skin some ferocious, cave-dwelling yak, only to end up sitting down to take in all the beauty.
