Until this weekend I had never been known to have a favorite Tumblr — indeed I had only known madness. And now I know madness more intimately, its horror coupled with the seeming innocense of prancing felines in what is likely the only cat meme that matters in the end, not that our minds will be intact to appreciate it, mercifully.
They say a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, but when that medicine is laced with dark and smokey tendrils that seek and tear at our throats as viciously as our psyches, sugar loses all sweetness, replaced with the salty iron of our vital fluids and awash with our soundless screams. Sugar is not enough. Kittens... may not be enough either, but the attempt is to be admired.
And so we have H.P. Lovecat, marrying the savage truths of poor misunderstood Lovecraft with the melifllous mewling of alleged untainted souls. Some say they can see forever. Others far beyond that, to the places no eye should ever reach.
They cannot save us. We are already lost.
