A couple of week's back I laid out my plan to prepare for World of Warcraft's upcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion — get my new Draenei shaman to level 60, and then use the free boost to 90. Watch me get 30 levels in 30 seconds.

Prachok the shaman hit level 60 about a week ago, actually, but I didn't have the upgrade for next week's expansion yet, so I couldn't boost him immediately. In the meantime I've been playing with a gnome monk, the most ridiculously fun class/race combination ever. I was tempted to apply the boost to her instead, but decided to stick to the plan.

Here's a look at Prachok before the boost:

And here's a video showing me boost from 60 to 90 with a few simple mouse clicks and a short mouth harp solo.

The primary benefit of boosting from level 60 to 90 was that I was suddenly in the Blasted Lands instead of in close proximity to Goldshire, which on my server of Moon Guard is no place for anyone dressed in clothes to be.

My skills and spells were paired down in order to re-learned them while questing in the Blasted Lands, but once I left the zone and came back all were restored. Suddenly I had all of the flying skills, as well as the Warlords of Draenor collector mount to use them with.

As for a tutorial explaining how to use my newly powered-up character, I consulted the videos at the World of Warcraft website, which indicated that I should just be doing the same basic spell rotation I'd used at level 60 — Flame Shock, Lava Burst, Lightning Bolt while waiting for cool-downs.

Now I've just got to figure out my talents and glyphs, and I'm ready for levels 90-100, coming next week in the Warlords of Draenor expansion pack.

Warlords of Draenor goes live November 13.
