Mojang has been slowly teasing out details about the next big update for Minecraft for a while now. This Tuesday, the team decided to drop a bombshell on fans of the legendary PC game in the form of a quiet little YouTube video announcing how players will soon be able "to create their own wild and crazy terrain!"
I know what you're probably thinking: can't you already do that? Isn't that the whole reason so many people love Minecraft?
Well, sort of. But not really, no. Like all the best improvements that have been brought to the game, the new terrain customization features further enhance the precision and ability granted to players to truly create their own worlds in the game.
"There are 16 sliders which can be used to affect various aspects of Minecraft's terrain generator, but you can also type in values directly," the description for the new video reads, to give you a sense of the level of control Mojang is handing to its players. "You also have complete control over things like the sea level and what structures you want to generate."
If Minecraft's slow but sure ascent to video game greatness proves anything, it's that "complete control" is never really a bad thing when it comes to this game.
