Later this month potato chip fans from around the country will vote the determine which of these flavors is worth a million dollars. This is going to be a tough one.
For the third year in a row Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” competition has solicited new potato chip flavor ideas from across the country, but unlike 2014’s Mango Salsa or 2013’s winner, Cheesy Garlic Bread (fuck you, Cheesy Garlic Bread), none of the finalists in the 2015 competition sound horrible and/or half-assed.
Gyro? Truffle Fries? Southern Biscuits and Gravy? New York Reuben? All of these are strong flavors. Truffle Fries might be a bit of a cop-out—potatoes with stuff that taste like potatoes with stuff—but I cannot imagine them being horrible.
These should be hitting store shelves soon, as voting begins on July 27. I’ll have four bags in my possession shortly, so look for a full Snacktaku review in the near future.
In the meantime, Lay’s hired Nich Lachey to surprise the four finalists with news of their triumph, because he had some free time.
