As wild as the game’s initial reception has been, Pokémon Go’s launch hasn’t been without its problems. So the release of the game in places that aren’t the US, Australia or New Zealand is on hold while the developers sort things out.
In an interview with Business Insider, Niantic CEO John Hanke says that while issues with the game’s server capacity are addressed, the launch of Pokémon Go in places like Europe (and, well, everywhere else) is “paused until we’re comfortable.”

Of course, Android users comfortable with side-loading APKs can easily get around this (and many already have). Just remember, be careful where you get the file from.
