Pillars of Eternity Gets A Ton Of New Stuff This Week

Obsidian’s Kickstarted role-playing game Pillars of Eternity was one of 2015’s most pleasant surprises. So nearly a year later, it’s nice to see the developers continuing to support it.

Anyone with a copy of Pillars can now download update 3.00, a free patch that’s full of new changes and content. In addition to tweaking balance for several characters and abilities, the update improves one of the weakest parts of the game, the Stronghold, by adding new options and an extra quest. The patch also makes Act 3 more interesting—and more difficult. (You can read the full patch notes here.)

Also out this week is Part Two of The White March, a new add-on for Pillars that’ll cost you $15 (or $25 if you haven’t yet bought Part One and want to purchase them together). I haven’t yet had a chance to check out the second part of The White March, but reviewers who have played it say it’s pretty damn good. Here’s a teaser trailer:

I’ll be playing more of The White March and hopefully posting impressions in the next few weeks, but for now, let’s hear from you guys—if you’ve played the newest Pillars expansion, what do you think?
