Low Profile Tactile Switches
These come with the GL Brown mechanical switches. If you’re not aware, keycap switch manufacturers use a color designation that are categorized to indicate both the travel behavior of a key as you press it down along with its, well, clicky-clackiness.
Having tried a handful of options myself, I’m personally found of the brown the most. These have a tactile response which means that when you first press down a key, you’ll be met with a touch of more resistance than throughout the rest of it’s travel distance. Some other variants require consistent pressure all the way through where as these need the most pressure at the beginning of your press. This to me results in each keystroke feeling more intentional. I like the feedback it gives.
In addition to that, they bit of a click and a clack to them. They’re not the noisiest available, but they’re certainly not silent either. The browns make for a happy medium that will sound and feel satisfying with every stroke, but won’t be so loud it will wake your neighbors through the wall. They also are low profile, with a 1.5mm actuation and 3.2mm total travel distance. This all just leads to some very gratifying typing at your desk.
