Apple’s AirPods Pro line has anchored the premium in-ear headphone category since 2019, with each generation improving sound, fit, and ecosystem features. AirPods Pro 3 are the latest model, released in September 2025 with Apple’s most effective Active Noise Cancellation, a new heart rate sensor, and a redesigned acoustic architecture. The new ANC removes twice as much external noise as AirPods Pro 2, with foam-infused silicone tips in five sizes that improve fit and passive sound isolation. An IP57 rating also adds water and dust resistance, making the AirPods Pro 3 well-suited for sweaty workouts and outdoor activity.
A solid pair of earbuds with a slew of great features
Active Noise Cancellation is the centerpiece feature, and Apple says the AirPods Pro 3 deliver twice the noise reduction of AirPods Pro 2. Compared to the original AirPods Pro from 2019, the new generation removes four times as much external noise across most frequency ranges. Apple overhauled the acoustic architecture with a multiport design, custom driver, and amplifier, working with the H2 chip to widen the soundstage and deepen the bass. Adaptive EQ has been updated as well, using an inward-facing microphone to tune the sound to your ear canal in real time.
The redesigned ear tips are the most noticeable physical change from previous generations. Apple ships AirPods Pro 3 with foam-infused silicone tips in five sizes, including a new XXS option for users with smaller ears. The buds also house a built-in heart rate sensor that tracks pulse and calories across 50+ workout types, with integration into the Fitness app on iPhone. An IP57 rating protects against rain, sweat, and dust during workouts, with new in-ear stability good for running, HIIT, and yoga.
Apple Intelligence integration brings several new features to AirPods Pro 3. Live Translation listens to nearby speech and translates the audio in nearly real time, with the option to translate your own speech back through the connected iPhone. Hearing health features include a clinical-grade hearing test using iPhone with the AirPods Pro 3 inserted, plus a hearing aid mode for users with mild to moderate hearing loss. Transparency mode has also been tuned to make your own voice and the people speaking to you sound more natural during conversations.
AirPods Pro 3 deliver their best experience inside Apple’s ecosystem, with Apple Intelligence features such as Live Translation and Workout Buddy requiring a compatible iPhone for full functionality. Android users get basic Bluetooth pairing but miss most of the AI-powered and Apple-specific features. The MagSafe charging case has also moved to USB-C, so existing Lightning cables from older AirPods will not connect.
At $179, the Apple AirPods Pro 3 are at one of the lowest price points since the model launched in September 2025. Pick them up on Amazon while the discount holds for the latest Active Noise Cancellation in Apple’s premium earbud lineup.
