Here Is A Thing That Happens In Mortal Kombat X

For a game full of brutalities and gruesome deaths, Mortal Kombat X still managed to surprise me last weekend with one specific scene. You wanna see it, right?

(Spoilers for an early chapter of Mortal Kombat X follows!)

Those of you playing Mortal Kombat X know that there’s a civil war going on in the Outworld, and it’s all thanks to Mileena. You eventually find out where Mileena is, and Earthrealm forces mount an attack on her. She is captured, and then this happens:

Here is a partial transcript of my reaction when I first watched this:

ARE YOU SERIOUS

HOW MANY BUGS ARE YOU

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING

I couldn’t help but laugh at my reaction to this—there are way worse things in the game, after all! But after thinking about it, I realized that it wasn’t entirely the gross-out factor that I was responding to. It was that Mileena had changed between Mortal Kombat 9 and Mortal Kombat X. This is what she used to look like:

See? No lips. You’d have a pretty hard time making out with that. But the new Mileena has lips in between all the fangs:

…which means she can participate in a horrific make-out scene like the one above. Hooray?
