While it's not as, ahem, magical as its employment on the ESPN front page, you can still find a use for the Konami Code on the new Palm Pre smartphone.

And that use is a surprisingly practical one: simply enter "upupdowndownleftrightleftrightbastart" on the phone's keyboard and you'll have unlocked its dev mode, which if you're so inclined will let you test out wacky new stuff on the phone that otherwise wouldn't fly running in "standard" mode.
