Do you like to cosplay? Do you like free food, free drinks, dancing and the chance to win prizes? And will you be in New York City for Comic-Con in early October? If that’s a yes to all that, we’ve got an event for you.
On October 6, we’ll be hosting the first ever io9 and Kotaku Cosplay Ball. It’ll be at Studio@17 - 2 West 17th Street, New York, NY, from 7pm-10pm. (Transportation will be available from the Javits Center.)

We’ll have:
- Free drinks
- Free food
- Dancing w/ DJ Cutman
- A cosplay Photo Booth w/ photographer Anna Fischer
- A comic Book Corsage Station (someone will make a corsage for attendants out of comic books)
- And... a Cosplay contest in four categories: anime, TV/movies, comic books, and video games. Prizes will include an Xbox One, a PS4 and an airbrush kit. The judges will include: master builder Jimmy Diresta, Thomas DePetrillo of Extreme Costumes, cosplayer D. Piddy, and photographer Anna Fischer.
The Cosplay Ball will be presented by Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. The first 10 people who show up as a Dragon Ball character will get a free copy of the game.
