While many are focused on the oddness of the Xbox “rebranding”, if you can call accidentally leaving caps lock on a rebrand, it’s worth focusing on more important things instead, like the fact that the Xbox Gaming Controller is on sale right now. We do see discounts like this here and there, but every time it happens is a great time to grab a new one, especially if you’re looking to game with more people, or you need a replacement.
The Xbox Gaming Controller is almost the gold standard for controllers at this point for a lot of us. It’s a little pricey though, costing $65 normally. Thankfully, today’s deal brings it down to $50 instead, which is a solid price for a really good controller that’s going to last you a long time. Just make sure to get some rechargeable batteries or something alongside it to make sure you don’t end up losing out on that money to battery prices.
Game It Up
This controller has a wonderful feel to it, with a textured grip which ensures it’ll fit snugly into your hands and stay there, and buttons in all the right places. While it lacks some of the haptic features of the DualSense, it’s still got vibration and a good tactile feel overall, helping you to stay immersed in your games that little bit more. It’s also a controller that basically everything in existence can support, which means you can use it on your Xbox, but also on your PC, your phone with Cloud Gaming, and anything else you can find a way to connect it to. Not that connecting it is hard, because it’s wireless.
You can also connect a headset straight to it if you want to, allowing you to minimize wiring issues when you’re gaming at long distance. We’re not talking about miles away, just when you want to slump into your couch and let it envelop you like a hungry mimic. That’s a relaxing thing for at least one person out there, and not having to deal with wires makes that all the better. Plus, you can always customize the buttons as you need to get your perfect gameplay experience too.
This is quite simply one of the best controllers ever made, so being able to get it while it’s on sale is amazing. We don’t know how long the $50 price tag will last for this time though, so if you do want to get your hands on it, we recommend doing so as quickly as you can.
