Collectible card game purveyor Jasco Games is planning to launch an officially licensed board game based on Mega Man, in which you "take control of your favorite hero, and battle Dr. Wily and his forces of evil robots."

The game's prototype was present last month at tabletop gaming convention Gen Con, where initial sculptures for Mega Man and Cut Man (above) were shown off. Otherwise there's very little information out there, apart from the fact that the creators are planning to launch a Kickstarter campaign in the near future. Jasco Games promises to reveal more "soon."

Why does this need crowdfunding? If Capcom aren't footing the bill themselves, why did they partner with a designer who can't afford to put it out? Big AAA company like that asking for money seems a tad sketchy to me.
