A 2TB portable hard drive that runs off a single USB cable
This portable hard drive was designed to give you a low-maintenance way to expand your computer storage. You get 2TB of additional storage, USB 3.2 Gen 1 or USB 2.0 compatibility, plug-and-play setup, a two-year limited warranty, and everything in a compact, lightweight black casing.
The 2TB of available storage holds hundreds of thousands of photos, hours of video, and large document and game libraries. This makes it easy to free up space on your laptop or create a full backup of your critical documents.
When transferring data at maximum speed with USB 3.2 Gen 1, you can reach transfer rates of up to 5Gbps, so copying entire directories of files takes less time. The portable hard drive is also backward-compatible with USB 2.0 connections on older systems.
Plug-and-play installation is provided. Simply insert one end of the provided USB cable into your system’s USB port, then attach the other end to the Elements Portable, and it works immediately without any external power source. The Elements Portable drive arrives preformatted in NTFS for use on Windows 10 and above operating systems, but you may format it for use on macOS-based systems.
One of the Elements Portable’s best features is its ability to draw power directly from your system’s USB port. This means that when you travel with your Elements Portable hard drive, you don’t have to worry about finding an electrical outlet to keep using it. Whether you’re in a hotel room, a classroom, or a coffee shop, plug it into a USB port on your laptop to back up your files while traveling.
The portable drive’s compact design also makes it easy to carry. For example, you could store it in a desk drawer or coat pocket, or keep it in a laptop bag with your other accessories, so it’s always available when you want to save a project or free up space.
Backing up files on your laptop helps prevent loss from failure or theft. By backing up your photos, school or work documents, and family videos to the Elements Portable drive regularly, you can keep them safe even if disaster strikes. The WD 2TB Elements Portable External Hard Drive also comes with a two-year limited warranty.
