Intego is running a half price sale on its Mac security suite until September 30 which is the sort of thing you either care about or scroll past. The part worth stopping for is that the two prices on offer don’t rank the way you’d expect. Intego ONE Complete (covering one Mac and one iPhone) costs $45 for a single year against a $89.99 list price. The same plan costs $75 for two years against $149.99.
Subscriptions renew at full price, so the annual plan charges you $45 now and $89.99 twelve months from now and that’s $134.99 across 24 months. The two year plan covers the identical window for $75. Taking the option with the smaller number on it costs you about sixty dollars more, assuming you keep the software past the first year.

Why only one of the three plans is discounted
Intego ONE comes in three tiers and the sale runs on the top one, so the comparison you’d normally make between them doesn’t really apply this month.
Essential is antivirus and a firewall. Advanced adds SmartClean, which clears out caches, logs, app leftovers and the general sediment that accumulates on a machine you’ve owned for a few years. Complete adds a VPN (Intego belongs to the same owner as ExpressVPN, which is one of the best VPNs out there) and an iPhone app and it’s the only tier that does anything once you close the laptop.
A word on that iPhone app, because the name oversells it: iOS doesn’t let third party software scan the device, and Intego says so directly in its own FAQ rather than pretending otherwise. What the app does is check your settings, your passcode, Face ID, app tracking permissions, pending updates, anything that’s quietly disabled one of Apple’s protections, and tell you what to fix. It also tests Wi-Fi networks before you trust them and runs the VPN.
The Mac side is more conventional: Real time scanning, scheduled scans, a firewall that shows you which apps are phoning out and lets you stop them.
The sale ends September 30, after which everything above goes back to costing twice as much and the math changes completely.
