Before anything else, find a tape measure: LG’s largest C6 is 72.5 inches wide, a little over six feet of screen, and the wall has to be ready for it. For anyone whose living room passes that test, the price has moved a long way, since the 83-inch LG C6 OLED (2026 model) falls from $5,299.99 to $3,499.99 on Amazon, 34% off. Amazon lists it as a limited time deal, and no Prime membership is needed to get it.
165Hz Gaming on an 83-Inch OLED
The C6 is an OLED evo panel, which means each of its 8.3 million pixels produces its own light and can switch off completely. That is where the black of a night sky or a dark corridor in a horror game comes from, with no grey haze around bright objects. Brightness has long been the weak point of the technology, and LG answers with what it calls Brightness Booster Pro, claiming pixels up to 3.2 times brighter. The figure carries a footnote and no stated baseline, so I’d read it as a direction more than a measurement. Dolby Vision, HDR10 and Filmmaker Mode are all supported, the last one adjusting to the light in the room. Seen from a sofa three meters away, a screen this size fills enough of your field of view that a film night at home starts to resemble a small cinema, which is the whole point of going past 77 inches.
Players are clearly part of the target. Response time is given as 0.1ms, the refresh rate goes up to 165Hz, and the TV handles Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium and VRR, so a gaming PC connected to it behaves as it would on a monitor. Consoles benefit from the same low latency. Split-screen is where 83 inches changes things most, because each half of the picture is still larger than many bedroom TVs, and four people on a sofa can all read their own corner of the map.
On the software side, the TV runs webOS, with Google’s Gemini assistant built into the interface. LG’s processor handles upscaling and picture optimization, and Dolby Atmos is supported for sound. OLED Care is included to protect the panel over time, a reassurance worth having on a screen that may spend hours showing the fixed elements of a game’s interface. I should note that the listing names the processor inconsistently from one line to the next, which is why I’m not quoting its performance percentages here.
Logistics deserve a paragraph at this size. On its stand the TV measures 72.5 by 43.1 inches and needs 11.7 inches of depth, while the panel alone is 2.1 inches deep for wall mounting. Amazon currently includes delivery to the room of your choice with unpacking at no charge, offers professional wall-mounting for $239.99 without the hardware, and can haul away an old set for a fee. Returns run for 30 days.
