If you were hoping to score some sweet new PC accessories during the Prime Big Deal Days sale happening at Amazon, then I’ve got some unfortunate news for you. The sale is over. It ended yesterday, having only lasted for two days from Tuesday, October 6 through Wednesday, October 7. There is a silver lining, however. Not all the deals went away. Some are still active so you can still save quite a bit.

If you’d been on the hunt for a new monitor, come check out the Samsung Essential S3. This FHD monitor is available in either 24 inches or 27 inches, both models happen to be on sale. The 24-inch display has been discounted down to just $99, while the 27-inch display has come down to just $110, only $10 more.

Curved for Enhanced Engagement

If you have never used a curved monitor before, you might have the impression that it is purely a gimmick. That could not be further from the truth. Curved monitors are able to more closely match your field of vision. You’ll get a wider view than you would on a flat monitor of the same size. This ends up enhancing your depth perception, better immersing yourself into the game, movie, or app you’re running with minimal distraction. This one has a 1800R curvature which is a moderate amount of curve—great way to dip your toes in. It’s a nice halfway point between a flat screen and some of the more pronounced curved monitors out there.

The monitor has a 1080p FHD resolution and has a refresh rate of 100Hz. This is fast enough to run games well over the standard framerate of 60fps, making games appear smooth with reduced lag and motion blur. You can also adjust the screen settings to allow color and image contrast that makes spotting enemies in dark areas much easier.

The Samsung Essential S3 (S36GD) Series monitor is also designed to support long sessions in front of the computer. It uses advanced eye comfort technology certified by TÜV meant to reduce eye strain as well as minimize the amount of blue light the screen emits. It also reduces the amount of screen flicker which would otherwise cause fatigue.

You have two methods of connecting to the Samsung Essential S3 monitor. You’ll likely end up plugging in via HDMI since that’s more universally supported, but if you have something older that runs on D-sub, you can plug in via that too.
