Not All Great Cosplay Comes From Characters You Know

One of the most talented artists I've ever featured in my Fine Art series on Kotaku is Dan LuVisi. What does that have to do with cosplay? Let me explain.

LuVisi has a graphic novel series called Last Man Standing. There's a ton of potential in its sci-fi world, and some fantastic art (not to mention tentative movie plans), but at the moment as an upcoming series with only two published books (though note: there is now a toys) most people would never have heard of it, nor would they recognise LMS' star Gabriel.

One of the few who have, though, introduced LuVisi's work to her artist boyfriend, Hugh Holder. Inspired, Holder not only built some impressive 3D models of Gabriel, but also went and built a very impressive cosplay outfit of it!

There's a write-up and gallery of Holder's work on his ArtStation page, but here's a highlighted selection of pics from both the model and the costume. If you wanna check out Last Man Standing, it's on Amazon.
