The second generation Meta AI-powered smart glasses take the form of the iconic design of Ray-Ban, adding in so high-end tech features both Meta and Ray-Ban are hoping can improve your daily life. And right now, Amazon has them on sale for 15% off. Usually you could get these for $379, but the discount takes them down to just $322 for a limited time.

The big things these smart glasses  have got a 12MP HD ultra-wide camera right on the front, along with an array of five microphones This way you can capture video and audio of whatever it is you’re looking at and hearing. Remember that episode of Black Mirror where everyone had implants in their eyes to record their entire lives, allowing them to pull up and revisit memories from their own POV? This is one step closer to that being a reality, I suppose.

Beyond just the audio-visual capture component, The Meta Ray-Ban glasses also pack in a set of open-ear speakers. This means you can discretely listen to music, audiobooks, or podcasts—connecting to apps like Spotify. The open-ear design allows you to keep your ears free and stay aware of your surroundings while still enjoying the sound of whatever it is you queued up.

You can even take phone or video calls on these glasses. For a video call, you can swap back and forth between your glasses’ view and your phone camera’s view by simply double-tapping the side of the frame. This way you can show them what you see, and they’re hear you loud and clear with the voice isolating on-board microphones.

Real-Time Translation

One feature that definitely sparks some curiosity is the devices ability to translate between languages. When wearing the Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, you can hold a full conversation with someone who is speaking an entirely different tongue. The glasses will translate for you in your ear on the fly. As of right now, the glasses support languages including French, Italian, Spanish, German, English, and Portuguese with plans for more in the future. And the translation all happens at the local level, so you don’t even need to be running a separate app on your phone or be connected to Wi-Fi for it to work.

The Meta Ray-Ban glasses hold a battery life of up to four hours on a single charge. When counting the charging case, you’ll get as much as 36 hours of use before it needs to be plugged back in. And even if they do die on you, the glasses are still glasses. There’s a Mitch Hedberg joke in here somewhere.
