The HP OmniBook 3 17.3-inch Laptop PC is HP’s entry-level 17-inch consumer laptop, built on an AMD Ryzen 3 30 processor with integrated Radeon 610M graphics and 8GB of RAM. The 17.3-inch Full HD display gives more usable screen space than a standard 15-inch office laptop. Windows 11 Home ships pre-installed on a 512GB NVMe SSD. A dedicated Copilot Key on the keyboard also launches Microsoft’s AI assistant with a single press.
A versatile laptop perfect for working or playing on the go
Big screens are the whole point of a 17-inch laptop. The OmniBook 3 gives you 17.3 inches diagonal at Full HD resolution, which fits about 40% more content on screen than a 14-inch laptop and about 20% more than a 15.6-inch model at the same resolution. That plays out during a workday in two documents side by side without cropping, a spreadsheet with more columns before scrolling, or a browser window showing more of a webpage in one view. A full-size keyboard with a number pad on the right side also fits inside the 17-inch chassis, which 15-inch laptops usually can’t accommodate.Performance on the OmniBook 3 comes from AMD’s Ryzen 3 30 processor, an entry-tier mobile chip paired with 8GB of RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD in this configuration. A dozen browser tabs, a Word document, and a background streaming app also all run at once without slowdown.
Copilot is Microsoft’s built-in AI assistant on Windows 11, and HP added a dedicated key to the keyboard that opens it with a single press. That’s useful for drafting an email, summarizing a long PDF, generating an image, or asking questions about what’s on the screen without switching apps. Standard Windows features like Windows Hello for fingerprint or facial login, Focus Sessions for time management, and Snap Layouts for arranging windows across the 17-inch screen all work as they do on any current Windows laptop.
Ports along the sides include HDMI for an external monitor, two USB-A for older peripherals, one USB-C for charging and newer devices, an SD card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Wi-Fi 6 covers wireless internet at gigabit speeds, and Bluetooth 5.3 pairs with mice, keyboards, and speakers. The chassis passed HP’s Trusted Quality durability testing, and the whole laptop is EPEAT Silver Climate+ registered and ENERGY STAR certified for lower energy draw and recycled material content.
HP’s OmniBook range runs the full gamut from 14-inch Snapdragon ultraportables at the low end up through 17-inch AMD Ryzen and Intel Core Ultra models at the top. The OmniBook 3 shown here is the base 17-inch configuration, priced for home use rather than professional workloads or gaming. At $450, down from $730, the current sale takes $280 off the list price. For a household laptop, a student setup, or a work-from-home secondary machine, the 17-inch screen at this price is a solid value.
