Every December brings the same ritual: the ladder comes out, the strings are tangled, half the clips snap in the cold, and in January it all has to come down again. Permanent lights are meant to end that cycle by staying under the eaves all year, and Govee’s 200-foot kit is part of Amazon’s Prime Big Deal offers, where Prime members can get the 200-foot Govee permanent outdoor lights Pro for $460 instead of $760, which takes 39% off the list price. Both the white and the black versions are included.

One Installation for Every Holiday of the Year

The kit consists of 120 individual lights spread along 200 feet of cable, roughly one every 20 inches, designed to be fixed under the roofline, two to four inches out from the wall. Govee supplies VHB adhesive and clips, and claims each light takes eight seconds to mount. Sections join through waterproof connectors every 16.4 feet, and the cable can be cut or extended to follow the shape of the house, within the 200-foot maximum. You will still spend an afternoon on a ladder, I should say, but only once.

What you get in return is a house that changes outfit from an app. Each light is controlled separately in the Govee Home app, with 16 million colors and 75 preset scenes, so orange and purple for Halloween, red and green in December and your team’s colors on game day are a few taps apart. Govee has also redesigned the lens to reduce glare and sharpen the triangular wash each light throws on the wall, and an AI assistant in the app can build an effect from a description typed in plain language.

Ordinary evenings are the second use, and the one Govee insists on. Besides colors, the lights produce white that ranges from warm 2700K to cold 6500K, at up to 50 lumens each, enough to serve as accent lighting along a patio or a driveway when no holiday is involved. This is the argument that would convince me, since decorations used four weeks a year are hard to justify at this price, while lighting used every night is another matter. Voice control goes through Alexa or Google Assistant, and Matter support allows the kit to join other smart home systems.

Outdoor ratings are IP67 for the lights and IP65 for the control box, with an operating range from -4°F to 140°F and a stated lifespan of up to 50,000 hours. Three constraints appear in the fine print. The power adapter is for indoor use only, so plan where the cable enters the house. Cuts must be sealed with Govee’s own waterproof connectors. And runs beyond 150 feet require Govee’s driver module. Buyers on Amazon rate the kit 4.5 out of 5 across more than 2,300 reviews.

Prime membership is required: the Govee permanent outdoor lights Pro in 200 feet cost $460 on Amazon against a list price of $760, in white or black, as a Prime Big Deal. Shorter 100-foot and 150-foot kits are sold on the same page, and returns are free.
