In the Fall of last year, Google expanded its lineup of earbuds with the Pixel Buds 2a. Aside from Black Friday and the early weeks of December holiday sales, its price has been rigid at $129. However, right now, they’re seeing their first real discount. For a limited time, you can save $20 on a pair of the active noise cancelling Bluetooth earbuds from Google. That 16% discount ends up taking them down to just $109. Could make for a great gift this Mother’s Day if you’re mom is still working with an old pair of headphones.
The Google Pixel Buds 2a are equipped with the Google Tensor A1 which powers its ANC. That along with it’s Silent Seal 1.5 work together to block out any external noise that could be distracting.
When time comes you want to listen to the world around you once more, just switch over to Transparency Mode which allows outside noises to pass through.
These earbuds are designed to fit securely in any ear size or shape. They utilize a twist-to-adjust stabilizer which lets you decide how tightly you want them sitting in your ear. Twist them tight when at the gym, completing some high-intensity workout. Now you’re just back at your desk getting some work done? Maybe untwist them for a more relaxed fit.

Pixel Buds 2a vs. Pixel Buds Pro 2
Google’s lineup of earbuds also includes the more premium Pixel Buds Pro 2. But are they worth the price jump? What are you getting for the upgrade exactly?
When stacking the Pro 2 against its 2a counterpart, you’ll find a handful of advanced features that aren’t on the more affordable option.
You’ll get some slight spec enhancements. Eight hours of battery with ANC versus the seven you get on the Pixel Buds 2a. The active noise cancellation is a little more robust, and you also will get a Conversation Detection feature which can automatically adjust ANC based on whether or not you are talking with someone.
They’re “cool to have” features, but it might be hard to justify spending nearly double the price when the Pixel Buds 2a can do much of the same—and are now discounted. Choose between four color options. The hazel, berry, fog, and iris colorways are all on sale at the moment for $20 off.
