Google Lowers Pixel Buds Pro 2 to a Record Low While AirPods Deals Lose Momentum on Amazon

Superior comfort, battery life, and Active Noise Cancellation are there for the taking for 26% off right now at Amazon.

Google is making it clear that it’s not going to get left behind in the battle for wireless earbuds supremacy. Apple and Samsung are the main combatants, but when Google slashes $60 from the price of their truly excellent Pixel Buds Pro 2, which are sitting at just $169 right now at Amazon, it might be time to broaden your shopping horizons.

These aren’t old-timey earbuds getting quietly discounted to clear shelf space — the Pixel Buds Pro 2 launched in late 2024 and represent a meaningful generational step, particularly around noise cancellation and fit. At $169, they’re now priced closer to mid-range competitors while delivering specs that sit firmly in the premium tier.

Blue-Chip Chip

The headline feature when the Pixel Buds Pro 2 dropped was the Tensor A1 chip — the first Google Tensor processor to appear in an earbud — and that still holds up today. Google claims the Tensor A1 brings twice the active noise cancellation of the original Buds Pro. That means better attenuation of low-frequency drone: airplane cabin noise, HVAC hum, open office ambience, or just general background noise. The 11mm drivers handle the low end with authority, and a dedicated high-frequency chamber keeps the treble from getting muddy when the bass is doing work. It’s a more intentional acoustic setup than the original Pixel Buds Pro.

Fit has historically been a sticking point with earbuds, because ear shape varies so wildly from person to person. But Google made it a priority with the Pixel Buds Pro 2. The twist-to-adjust stabilizer lets you dial in how the buds sit — lock them down for a run, loosen slightly for a long listening session at a desk. They’re light enough that extended wear doesn’t become a pressure issue.

Little Features, Big Difference

Conversation Detection is one of those features that sounds minor until you use it: The Pixel Buds Pro 2 automatically pause playback and switch to Transparency mode when you start talking, so you’re not pulling them out every time someone walks up to your desk. (Do you have talkative children? You’ll really love this feature if so.)

Integration runs deep if you’re already in the Google Pixel ecosystem. These pair instantly with Pixel phones, work with Find My Device, and pull AI features through the Tensor chip that aren’t available on competing hardware. That said, they also function well on Android broadly — the Google Home app handles EQ and settings regardless of which Android device you’re using. If you’ve been spending your time watching Apple and Samsung one-upping each other, you might have not noticed the Google Pixel Pro 2 wireless earbuds — this $60 off sale happening now at Amazon is your chance to give them a look.
