The WHOOP 5.0/MG is a screenless fitness tracker that lives on your wrist or upper arm and pulls 24/7 data on sleep, strain, recovery, and other long-term health metrics. The MG variant adds medical-grade ECG, heart rhythm notifications, and blood pressure insights, available only on the Life membership tier. The hardware is 7% smaller than the previous WHOOP 4.0 and offers 14+ days of battery life. The Life membership in this deal includes the MG device, a Wireless PowerPack charger, and a Titanium SuperKnit Luxe band.
A minimalistic fitness tracker to help you reach all of your goals
WHOOP uses a subscription model. The tracker comes with the membership, and the data, analytics, and coaching features are available in the WHOOP app on your phone. The Life tier at $359/year is the top membership. It includes the WHOOP MG hardware, the Wireless PowerPack for charging, a Titanium SuperKnit Luxe band, and a lifetime hardware warranty. The tracker doesn’t have a screen or notifications, so it stays out of the way during workouts and sleep.
Healthspan is the big new feature on the WHOOP 5.0/MG. The system pulls nine biomarkers (sleep consistency, VO2 max, time in heart rate zones, and others) into a “WHOOP Age” and a “Pace of Aging” score. WHOOP Age is your physiological age based on your lifestyle. Pace of Aging is a daily score that shows whether yesterday’s choices added or subtracted years from your physiological age.
On the WHOOP MG, the ECG sensor takes a 30-second reading when you hold the band with two fingers. This works for at-home AFib screening or peace of mind on a flagged heart rhythm. The Heart Screener also runs in the background and notifies you if it detects irregular patterns over time. Blood Pressure Insights are in beta, providing daily estimated systolic and diastolic ranges based on overnight sensor data and a one-time cuff calibration.
Most fitness trackers need to be charged every couple of days, which means taking the device off mid-activity. WHOOP solves this with a 14+ day battery and a Wireless PowerPack that clips onto the tracker while you wear it. You can charge in the shower or during a workout without taking it off your wrist. Plus, the Life membership ships with the Titanium SuperKnit Luxe band.
The WHOOP Life membership normally costs $359 a year, with the MG hardware bundled in. At $299 during this sale, the $60 discount brings the per-month cost to roughly $25. For people interested in longevity tracking, athletes who want medical-grade heart data without a smartwatch, or anyone on the fence about a screenless tracker, the deal narrows the gap between WHOOP Life and the more basic Peak membership tier.
