The CMF Watch Pro 2 is the round smartwatch from Nothing’s budget sub-brand, and at $39 on sale it costs about half what a basic Fitbit goes for. The interesting part is modularity: the bezel unscrews and swaps for a different color, and the 22mm band pops off so any standard strap fits. You can rotate between a dress look and a sport look without buying a second watch, which doesn’t exist at this price from Apple, Samsung, Garmin, or Fitbit.
A full-featured budget smartwatch that you’ll love having on your wrist
The CMF Watch Pro 2 has a 1.32-inch AMOLED panel at 466×466 works out to 353 pixels per inch, close to what Apple and Samsung ship on mainline smartwatches. AMOLED also means blacks are true black rather than the grey bleed typical of LCD screens on sub-$50 fitness trackers. Peak brightness hits 620 nits, fine indoors but dim under noon sun. Fully charged, the battery will last 10-11 days with typical use. Battery life can be extended to up to 40 days by enabling power-saving mode. However, this disables all interactive functions.
A physical rotating crown on the right scrolls through watch faces and menus. This is what separates the Watch Pro 2 from cheap Amazon smartwatches that force everything through a laggy touchscreen. Gesture control adds wrist-flip recognition for answering calls, rejecting calls, and skipping tracks.
The watch’s fitness tracker offers 120 sports modes and automatically detects five of the most common activities. The smart movement algorithm will log both aerobic and anaerobic load, the effectiveness of each workout session, and your post-workout recovery time. It also uploads this information to apps such as Apple Health, Google Health Connect, and Strava via the Nothing X app. The heart rate monitor is continuously on and includes sensors for SpO2 (blood oxygen), sleep stage monitoring, and stress.
Bluetooth 5.3 allows you to make hands-free phone calls using your watch’s microphone and speaker. It also has AI-based noise cancellation for wind and background conversation. Also, built-in GPS tracks speed and distance while running outdoors, so you don’t need to carry a phone for that functionality. Although it has an IP68 rating, which provides protection against rain, splashing water, and immersion in up to 1.5 m of fresh water for 30 minutes, it shouldn’t be used for swimming laps or diving environments.
The CMF Watch Pro 2 Smartwatch is going for $40 right now instead of the usual $79. At that price it competes with Xiaomi Mi Band bracelets more than with the Apple Watch SE or Galaxy Watch FE, but the AMOLED screen and rotating crown punch above $40 watches.
