Bose built this speaker to be louder than its size suggests, which was the main idea behind it. It has deeper bass than most speakers this small, though it starts thudding at max volume. This unit plays left and right through a single driver in mono, so there’s no stereo separation. You can use the three-band EQ in the Bose app to lower the amount of low frequency being sent through the speaker if you find it overpowering.
The IP67 rating covers full waterproofing and full dustproofing, and Bose also rates the speaker as shock- and rust-resistant.
