I'm curious, but did you read the entire article? The article clearly says it's not the same unit. Kinect for 360 likes you to be up to 2 metres away, Kinect for Windows has been redesigned to focus in much more closely. Read more

From everything I've seen (I got a 360 on launch day, and have been buying points through the dashboard and with cards since day 1) you've always got more Microsoft Points for the dollar in the U.S. than in Canada.
