I love the Xenoblade series but have a tough time recommending them. They’re super long and the trailers always make the combat look incredibly boring. You really have to love exploring and the most recent game is pretty heavy on anime tropes. Read more

I know it’s not the same as a non-European based culture game (actually, it’s the complete opposite), but Valiant Hearts is a game that does a similiar thing for WWI Europe. Even the art-style evokes early 20th century Franco-Belgian comics. It’s much much closer to Never Alone than Battlefield I. Read more
