Yes, you can opt to play the vanilla version while you're in the hangar. Read more

Super agree. I really like the Threes music! Composed by Jimmy Hinson, who also made some music for Mass Effect a little while back. Read more

Okay, Mr. "Nathan Grayson." Here's my question: Are you a also a superhero? I've wanted a straight answer on this since I've known you, and now that we're on Kinja you have to tell the truth, because YOU CAN'T LIE TO KINJA. Read more

I'm one week behind on the paper trail stuff, but I liked the start, like Evan did. I gotta catch up! Currently I'm doing an evil playthrough, which I'm finding is much more fun than good was. Though I agree with Suellentrop, the game reeeeeally wants you to play good, which is awfully boring. Read more

Interesting. Nope, I had never noticed that! I'm doing a full MGS replay/first-time play (depending on the game), and I'll keep an eye out for that. I loved the 60fps on PS4 for Ground Zeroes, and hope they match that in The Phantom Pain. Read more

Back when I was games editor at Paste, I chatted with Nate Fox about how they went about researching New Orleans to make New Marais for Infamous 2. It was a pretty cool interview. It's here, if you'd like to take a trip down memory lane. Read more

I agree - the first two games had basically (to my eye anyway) no AA, but other than that they looked great and moved really nicely. After finishing Second Son, I'd say that Infamous 2 is still my favorite in the series, but then again, I'm a sucker for New Orleans. Read more

Yeah, the climbing is messy and the buildings don't lend themselves to it quite as well as in past games. That said, it becomes much less of an issue as the game goes on and your powers expand. Read more

Ha, that's interesting about guests, and true! The remote is immediate and intuitive, since we all understand remotes. And yeah, the DVR thing could definitely be annoying if want you use it for that. Kind of ties in with how the Xbox One isn't that great for DVR use in general. Read more

There is also a large saxophone thumb-guard callus on the side you can't see. Read more

Sometimes I wish there were a "Give your titan a high-five" option. See: This. Read more

Right - it's not really rumble, it's more like you're running your thumbs over a vibrating speaker. It gives you physical feedback when you interact with it, as opposed to, say, when you shoot a gun in a game. Read more

Ha, of course! I was just looking that up while writing about Left Behind, since the present-day mall in the DLC is also in Wyoming. Pity me and my scattered mind. Read more

Help me out here: Has there ever been a video game set in Wyoming? I'm coming up empty. Read more

Board games definitely add a new dimension to this whole discussion - it's a little tangential, but still interesting. As I've been playing more board games lately, I've also been realizing how totally ridiculously engaging and fun they are. All stuff that Quinns has been writing about for us and for his board game Read more

Yeah - LAN support is a great middle ground between offline/same-screen multiplayer and online, remote multiplayer, especially with hardcore FPSes. As much fun as I've been having playing Titanfall with Luke, Tina et al., I'd be having 10 times more fun if we were all in the same room! Read more

For real. I'm not really a huge Skrillex fan or whatever—here, I just like that he's sending fans his music through an iPhone game. But I'm always surprised at how much reflexive derision comes anytime a headline contains the word "Skrillex." I dunno, that Zelda thing he did a while back was cool! Ire can be better Read more
