I’m loving depowered Superman. I love that he has to do more than just fight his way through problems or overwhelm situations with power. (Love the asides to borrowing Batman’s tactics as well.) His weakness is at odds with his desire to always fix everything while his foes and enemies no longer have to be OMFG Read more

Everyone has a different reaction to finding out someone you’ve been working and are close with has been leading a double life. It seems to me that, for Perry at least, all those times villains have attacked the Daily Planet for what seems to be for no reason he can now put it down to it being all Superman’s fault for Read more

Pretty much all I could think was that Perry sounded like Jameson when Parker faked that photo. But then in the last panel Perry seems to have gained some kind of shape-shifting power and taken on Superman’s face, and that distracted me. Read more

Well according to Neil Gaiman its unknowingly reliving his childhood up to that night in Crime Alley every time he reboots that is the only peace the eternal Batman archetype ever gets. 8 or 9 years of blissful childhood blown away the same way every time followed by decades of obsession, madness and pain until he

Then I think your point of contention then is less that a character is being changed, and more that said change just isn’t being well written or all around handled well. Paradigm shifts aren’t always bad, and in some cases like with Swamp Thing they can be for the betterment of the comic. What matters, as always, is Read more

You’re not reading the Superman books then, yeah? Because in the Truth arc that’s going on right now, Action Comics has been about his accountability for the life he tried to live among regular people now that he’s depowered and all the trouble that follows. Superman/Wonder Woman is following the logical path the Read more

At some point during this run Bruce will use that machine to physiologically imprint the Batman persona back into his brain. Or, since everything else about this storyline is bat-shit crazy (pun intended), Bruce may finally find solace, changing his name and dissapearing to lead a normal life - while a new, younger Read more

I am a rabid Batman fan—but I am not a Bruce Wayne fan. I got into Batman comics because I found out that Bruce had been killed off and Dick Grayson was wearing the cowl. I thought it was honestly brilliant; a legacy as both Batman and Robin, the smiling Batman next to a brooding Robin, all along with genuinely Read more

They’ve got JLA for their big new flagship post-Convergence Justice League book; Justice League proper seems to be Geoff Johns’ vanity playground, like Green Lantern before it. Read more

Can we all just stop for a second and consider how fucking awesome of a pairing Snyder and Capullo have been for Batman? God damn have I been loving this whole series since issue 1! Read more

The man who was Batman isn’t tortured anymore and I, for one, hope he stays this way for a good long while. Read more

That would be fun, Bruce realizing he can never truly get over all the hurt and pain he’s suffered/inflicted because it’s too profitable for DC to stop him from being Batman :) Read more

A Batarang fired from a gun right into that poor goon’s crotch. This is a new Batman.

It’s Macross with Spelunky and Castlevania thrown together with homages to Space Battleship Yamato, Captain Harlock, and Battlestar Galactica. How can you NOT love this!?

only thing missing is mechashiva.

Asteroids style gameplay, homages to macross/robotech and space battleship yamato, and challenging gameplay that only expounds the risk/reward? Its no wonder ive been playing this game since day one. Read more

This is a great game. I can’t wait for episode 5 and I do hope they have some more post release content planned. Another nice thing I like (good that you mentioned it) is that A-Tak is voiced by Dean Venture’s voice artist, Michael Sinterklaas. His voice is perfect for the role.

Dean Venture/Leonardo is the voice of A-Tak? As if the retro-Macross/Robotech styling and ‘80s gameplay wasn’t enough of a selling point for me. That’s it, then. I am buying it right now.
