Like super powered babes and hunks kickin ass in spandex? Look somewhere else. Southern Bastards is about returning to your backwards home town and dealing with the shit that's been festering since you left. A fantastic read.

Secret Avengers feels like someone is trying to copy Matt Fraction's Hawkeye and doing a damn good job at it. Its funny, and werid, it has Hawkeye. Plus Coulson and Fury hang out all the time.

Mega Man continues to have the best covers, and be one of the best superhero comics that delves into what it means to be human, a good person, a hero, and what the difference between man and machine is, as well as how closely we are linked to each other.

Speaking of She-hulk, I went to my first Comic Con ever and got Katie Cook to draw me a cover for she-hulk (my favorite female superhero) in her FF 2012 costume, from Matt Fraction's run on the series.

Lumberjanes is a comic I look forward too every issue. The themes of friendship, the chemistry between girls, the personalities, the art that feels like a send up to every camp cartoon ever. Its all types of fantastic.

Seconds is like Bryan Lee O'Malley wanted to do a "be careful what you wish for/dont change the past" story but he brings such a unique perspective and interseting setting that you completly forget the kinda cliche set up.

This year, I absolutely loved Ms. Marvel, The Wicked + The Divine, Sex Criminals, Saga, and Seconds. It was a damn fine year for comics. Read more
