@Can I Really Be the Hero?: My GF watches makeup tutorials on YouTube, and a while back before Sims 3 launched, one of them was talking about it. She called herself a "Simmer" and asked if people who watched her videos were "Simmers" too. Read more

@Yentz: I must admit, I'm biased. I have a 40GB a month cap and I share that with four other people. It's simply not feasible for me to buy games off Steam. I got Mirror's Edge in the sale a while back and still haven't installed it simply because I cannot justify blowing my share of the allowance downloading one game. Read more

@Harris Ichthyosis: I think you missed what I was trying to say. I think these charts aren't filled with the latest and greatest (ahem) because basically the PC offers, as Nintendo say, evergreen titles. People buy them because they are still worth playing. It has nothing to do with digital over boxed because there Read more

I think this sort of highlights the difference for me between PCs and consoles. On the PC, you get a few games and they will last you for ages. On the console, you get a few games and you are lucky if they last you a week. Read more

@iatw: Exactly. It also rules out other RPGs such as Dark Savior and Pokemon. Read more

I always thought it was more like this: Read more

@fencermusashi: I dunno, it turned my opinion around. I hate most JRPGs (these days) but I'm enjoying FFXIII. Almost didn't see that coming, but really should have given how much the purists are moaning about it. :P Read more

@LucasReis: I was going to write my master's thesis on this once. Do we consider ourselves to BE the character, or do we consider ourselves to be an observer? It's interesting. Read more

@Nihilexistentialist: There's no need to get condescending. In fact, apart from Halo 3 and Perfect Dark Zero, the only other FPS in my collection is MW2. However, I was asking because I know COD4 didn't restrict you from online play if you didn't have them, where as Halo 3 would limit your options. Read more

I think, more than anything, this probably comes down to the idea of brands and the perception of what those brands stand for. A lot of people I know who are Final Fantasy diehards are not actually a subset of gamers but a subset of weeaboos. It's Final Fantasy's Japanese nature they are drawn too — they'll be damned Read more
