If people can eat chocobos, chocobos should be able to eat people. Read more

This isn’t your dad’s Moogle! This Moogle curses, does cocaine and has sex! Read more

The various previews have solidified the fact that the footage up to this point has really left me cold as a lifelong FF fan. I’m not terribly bummed (FF7 Remake is one of my favorite games of all time, so more of that soon really helps the FOMO), but it is strange to be on the outside of the hype cycle looking in for Read more

Man, fuck ribbon cables. I somehow wound up with an under-documented PS3 model that has one under the disk drive. That was a bloody nightmare when it came loose. Read more

Metal Storm? But why?! I think I still have the cartridge in my storage somewhere.  Read more

Overall I agree with your take on Death Stranding. The only thing I’d like to add is that the main storyline isn’t as complicated as it initially seems. If we watched the events chronologically it might be long and winding, but they would make sense. But we’re deprived of the key historical and backstory events for Read more

Nier Automata (and Nier Replicant, which imo has a better story by the end, but is harder to get into I imagine).
Glad to see Plague Tale on the list.  Read more

It really does feel like DMZ accomplishes what those multiplayer Ghost Recon titles had been trying and failing to accomplish, and the session-based format is probably a big contributor there. My buddies and I aren’t all gonna wade through each others Ubisoft open-world sandboxes to try to figure out who’s getting Read more

My two would be......
1. Make a mental note where the portal is. I spent a good bit of time trying to find it before taking more of a note where I came into the stage at. Read more

Try playing Sunset Overdrive! It’s got plenty of jokes poking fun at video game tropes and structure, but it’s also very clear that the people making the jokes are game lovers themselves.

Oh, and it’s not a constant onslaught of gross-out “humor” Read more

You just couldn’t make a game like Metal Gear Solid 2 in 2001's overly sensitive PC culture!” Read more

As much fun as I have with DMZ it just makes me wish The Division’s Survival Mode had gained more traction. I have a lot of issues with The Division itself but Survival was goddamn great. Being tacked on as paid DLC probably didn't do it any favors. I would absolutely play a standalone version of it.  Read more

I play DMZ solo. Not the best idea for success. One time, I decided to hop the train because I thought that would be the easiest way to do the “visit 6 POIs” faction mission. I got on the train and was cruising along picking up POIs when we started passing AI enemies who were clipping me even though I was wedged Read more

Honestly, Halo Infinite has started filling a similar role that Halo 5 did for me: A pretty lackluster campaign with an excellent multiplayer mode tied to a pretty pointless but ultimately easy-to-ignore progression system. Read more

AFAICT anything you find and exfil with gets automatically unlocked. So if you find a heartbeat sensor in the field and exfil with it, you should be able to equip it in your loadout from now on even if you’re not high enough level yet.

DMZ is such a weird choice for a name.

I would love a straight-up solos version of this. Some of the missions are great in a group, but some are a real pain to do with others who aren’t committed to finishing it. The one where I had to extract 6 killstreaks in one deployment, I just channeled my inner loot gremlin and avoided anything and everything Read more

I really, REALLY want a easy version of this game mode where I don’t have to strategically plan things, can play on my own and just fuck around doing missions. I don’t care about blueprints. I really just want to fuck around on the map in the hour I have between getting home from work and going to the pub. Read more

I’ve been having a lot of fun with friends and strangers alike in this mode, more over with global chat.
BTW, you can recruit other players in this mode to join your team, up to 6 players! it becomes so chaotically fun at that point!
