I'm more of a separate mic guy myself, but if I wanted to buy a gaming headset, I would pick this one. It looks pretty good, it's not that unreasonably priced, and I'd imagine it sounds okay too.

For desktop PC owners, the Asus Xonar DX. On my home PC, the speakers are plugged into the onboard audio, and my headphones use the DX. It's relatively cheap (under $100), reliable, durable (I've had it for over two and a half years) and sounds very, very good. Wholeheartedly recommended. Read more
