Nintendo controllers imo were (and probably still are) the most fragile. Although Genesis controllers were pretty quick to break. I don't think I ever broke an NES controller though. Couldn't agree with you more about not wanting to figure things out the first time around while the game is insanely hard. Sure, there are games you get alot out of, I'm not denying that. I do pay $60 for some very specific games, and that's because I know I'll get ALOT out of it like I did with Skyrim.
