The game’s community is ginormous and constantly growing and Riot tries to control almost everything in-house Read more

As a vegetarian, I’m seriously offended by the anti-vegetable content of this post. Read more

Not to be **that** kind of annoying MOBA player, but I think Kael being OP and Butch not really being OP rn only starts to show itself over the course of many games. Butcher is actually really weak (though he’s always an ace duelist) if he’s against a team with a lot of stuns/cc—something that Kael actually excels at Read more

Not yet except for pro tourneys, iirc the reason given for why they haven’t added them is that they were planning to add them to Team League (which has now been scrapped so who knows), but wanted to have more characters first. Read more

I’ve played more HOTS than League at this point and have reached a much higher level in competitive play in Blizzard’s game than LoL, and I still find the community far less toxic than League’s. Particularly if you’re starting out and mostly interested in playing QMs vs. the ranked mode, there’s a lot more tolerance Read more

Oh, one specific detail is that the gems are per-team, so I wasn’t really denying them anything. The idiocy here was a general noob-level mistake I should’ve known better than to make at this point: you really, really shouldn’t willingly engage in pretty much any fight where you’re outnumbered in a game like this. But I also agree that HOTS is gorgeous. I think the character animations are really where they blow the competition out of the water...I was so impressed with Read more

You can buy things in bundles, and they even sell a boxed copy (as odd as that sounds) that gives you a bunch of champs at a standard video game price of $60-ish. Otherwise yeah, constant content updates that you either have to pay for or grind for is just part of the game unfortunately. If only everyone could be like Read more

They’ve said a few times that they plan to release new heroes every 3-4 weeks for the foreseeable future, which makes sense if they’re trying to get up to speed with their competitors sooner rather than later. League and Dota both have well over 100 champs at this point, and it’ll still take a while for HOTS to get Read more
