The HDMI in and multitasking is supposed to be using a separate processor. All the tests except the video were done with the consoles hooked up separately. Also, even if it came down to that, that's now how most people are going to be using their console. The goal was to test it under normal conditions. Read more
I'm hoping yes, I would love to see it improved. I can't really say though, I don't know how these wizards make this stuff work in the first place. It could also be a combination of hardware and software, so it might be open to a partial improvement. Read more
They both have this feature. That's what we were testing. Read more
That's okay. You tried, and that's all one can really ask for. Read more
All the tests except the one in the video were the consoles hooked up normally. The Xbox supposedly has a separate processor to handle the multitasking features. If that turned out not to be true, that would be a whole other story! Read more
They're both doing that, but the Xbox is doing it slower. Read more

I wasn't able to find any indication of install progress on the PS4. Even looking at the storage menu, it just reserves the amount of space the game needs and says it's taking up that much. I assume since they know the disc needs to be in to play anyway, they didn't need to show it. I agree it's one of those… Read more
The movies are probably one issue, but it's not just that. Games are getting up to 50GB this generation. Even if you can get a 50gb flash drive for $1 wholesale, it probably costs them a few cents to make each blu-ray. Read more
Was there another game mode or something you tried? Because I installed that damn game multiple times on multiple Xboxes and PS4s, and never had that happen to me. And believe me, I remember, because I had to watch that AWFUL opening cutscene so many times. Read more

It's not under 10 minutes for a full install. It's under 10 minutes until the game is "ready to play" at which point it continues installing in the backround. In most cases, parts of the games are locked off until the full install is completed. All this and more can be found in the post above. Read more
No, the Xbox uses a separate processor for all that stuff otherwise it would slow down your games. At least that's what they said. All the tests except the video were done with an individual console hooked up normally to a TV. Read more
Thanks for reminding me, I forgot to ask people to submit their own results! Read more
That's odd, I've found the opposite. I have them both sitting right in front of me every day and they're both whisper quiet. The disc drive on the Xbox is much louder, but they're both still quieter than an original 360. Read more
Did you take the time to read the article? It's including the update on Xbox One because if you don't install the update, you can't install the game. The PS4 downloads the update in the background while installing the game, so that doesn't affect the installation time. I tested this yet again before making this post… Read more
Yeah, Ryse seems to be the worst culprit because it lets you open it and then you can't do anything but watch yet another progress bar, right? I also hear COD: Ghosts takes quite a while, but I didn't test that one. Read more
