The first generation of the Apple AirTag (1st Gen) – 4-Pack provides you with 4 Bluetooth trackers that can communicate via the Find My app to monitor your keys, wallet, luggage, backpack, etc. Each tag is displayed within the Find My app alongside your Apple devices and other users in the Find My community. This allows you to easily see where your most valuable items are located.
Connecting your AirTags to your iPhone or iPad is easy with a one-tap method that links each AirTag to your iOS device. After attaching the AirTags to the items you wish to track, you will be able to use the Find My app to show you the location of those items on a map, make the AirTag emit a sound through the built-in speaker, or simply use Siri to assist you in locating the item you lost.
Smart trackers to help you find everything you’ve lost
When you connect the AirTags to a compatible phone and use Precision Finding and Ultra Wideband Technology, enabled by the Apple-designed U1 chip in some iPhone models, you can achieve even better accuracy and direction to a nearby AirTag. Precision Finding displays on-screen arrows and distance prompts to help guide you to the AirTag you are trying to locate. While you will still be able to receive Bluetooth proximity alerts from the speaker and display the location of your AirTag on a map in the Find My app using a compatible iPhone or iPad that does not have Ultra Wideband, you will still be able to locate your lost item.
As you continue searching for items farther away, you will begin to rely on the larger network of Apple devices that support Find My to locate your AirTag. Since the AirTag relies on this large network, there are hundreds of millions of Apple devices that can help you find your AirTag once it moves out of Bluetooth range. When you enable Lost Mode for an AirTag, you will receive a notification from another device in that same network when they detect your AirTag, and you will also have the ability to share the location of your AirTag with a third party, such as an airline, or you will be able to share the AirTag with up to 5 additional people.
Together, the four AirTags, the Find My Network Integration, and Apple’s decision to integrate the hardware components create a compact tracking system that provides a solution beyond simple Bluetooth tracking. With four AirTags that come with pre-installed batteries, integration with the Apple devices you already own, Precision Finding capabilities on supported iPhone models, and a durable build that protects each tag from water and dust with an IP67 rating, this four-pack is an excellent value if you would like an Apple-based tracking solution for watching important items more closely. Additionally, the four-pack is being sold for $64, down from $99, and features options to share the location of your AirTags with others and network-assisted tracking for items that may travel beyond the Bluetooth range of your AirTags.
