15. Lazarus
I have been waiting for this show to release since scant details of its plot were message board fodder back in 2023. From Cowboy Bebop creator Shinichirō Watanabe, Lazarus is a sci-fi thriller set in the near future, where Nobel Prize-winning neuroscientist Dr. Skinner informs the world that the drug he created—meant to cure all diseases—will soon kill anyone who takes it. With an extinction-level event on the horizon, a group of talented castaways known as Lazarus are tasked with finding Skinner and a cure. The designs are gorgeous, and the show often delves into deep concepts like addiction, survival, and morality.
