Amazon’s biannual blowout sale event is the highlight of the shopping year, but with just one catch: The millions of deals are only available to Amazon Prime members. If that’s not you, the good news is you still have time to join before Prime Big Deal Days return from October 6-7. Even better news? Eligible new subscribers can sign up for a 30-day free trial and get full access to next week’s event at no cost.
Prime Big Deal Days covers millions of items across Amazon’s own hardware and a wide range of major brands. But be on your toes — deals tend to move fast and quantities on the steepest discounts are not unlimited, so showing upon October 6 without a membership and discovering you have to sign up first is a definitely getting off on the wrong foot.
Join for Less
If you are between 18 and 24, or currently enrolled in a higher education program, Prime for Young Adults is the best way to access all of Prime’s many perks. The trial runs six months at no cost, and then drops to $7.49 per month or $69 per year after that, which is a sizable discount off the standard $15 monthly rate. During Prime Big Deal Days, members on this plan also stack an additional 5% cash back on eligible purchases across electronics, apparel, beauty, PCs, and personal care.
Qualifying government assistance recipients and income-verified customers have a third option. Prime Access runs a free 30-day trial and then costs $7 per month, which is more than 50% off the standard rate. Verification is available at the Prime Access site.
Year-Round Prime Benefits
Beyond the two Prime Days events, a Prime membership carries its own ongoing set of perks. A Prime subscription bundles free shipping on more than 300 million items, including same-day and next-day delivery on tens of millions of them. Prime Video, Amazon Music, and Amazon Luna are included. Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh orders also come with delivery discounts.
Prime Big Deal Days deals go live on October 6. A standard Prime membership is $15 per month after the free trial period. All three sign-up options — Prime, Prime for Young Adults, and Prime Access — are keys to unlocking the millions of amazing deals during Prime Big Deal Days.
