The Apple AirPods Pro 3 are the third-generation Pro-tier wireless earbuds from Apple, released in September 2025 as the direct replacement for the AirPods Pro 2 from 2022. The H2 chip inside brings the same processing power as the previous generation, now paired with a new multiport acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ for improved sound quality. Active Noise Cancellation is rated at 2x the AirPods Pro 2 and 4x the original AirPods Pro. Foam-infused ear tips come in five sizes, including a new XXS.
Excellent earbuds for both iOS and Android users featuring great noise cancellation
Fit and stability come from a redesigned earbud shape based on more than 10,000 ear scans and 100,000 hours of testing. The stem length matches the AirPods Pro 2, but the earbud body is slightly deeper and slimmer, so it rests more securely during exercise or a commute. Foam-infused silicone ear tips now also come in five sizes, adding a new XXS option below the XS-L range from the AirPods Pro 2. IP57 water resistance goes beyond the previous IP54 rating.
Active Noise Cancellation is Apple’s biggest talking point on the Pro 3, with a rating of 2x that of the AirPods Pro 2 and 4x that of the original AirPods Pro. Ultra-low noise microphones combine with computational audio and the new foam-infused ear tips to block outside noise across a wider frequency range than any previous generation. The multiport acoustic architecture inside also widens the soundstage compared to the AirPods Pro 2, and next-generation Adaptive EQ tunes the frequency response to your ear canal in real time.
Health features on the Pro 3 add a heart rate sensor for workouts, mirroring the sensor Apple has been building into the Apple Watch for over a decade. When you start a workout on your paired iPhone, the AirPods track your pulse and feed the data into the Fitness app alongside data from other Apple devices. Live Translation is another new addition, using Apple Intelligence to capture spoken language, translate it, and deliver the result directly to your ear in real time.
Battery life on the AirPods Pro 3 comes in at 8 hours per charge with ANC on, up from 6 hours on the AirPods Pro 2. The MagSafe charging case also charges via USB-C, wireless Qi, MagSafe pads, or the Apple Watch charger, providing flexibility across your existing setup. Automatic device switching within the Apple ecosystem lets the Pro 3 pair with your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, hopping between devices without manual re-pairing.
AirPods have been Apple’s default listening accessory since 2016, with the Pro line as the flagship since 2019. The Pro 3 brings the biggest updates to the line since the original Pro, with doubled ANC, heart rate sensing, Live Translation, and IP57 as the main additions. At $199.99, down from $249, the current sale takes almost $50 off the retail price. For an upgrade from an older Pro model or a first pair of Pro-tier AirPods, this drops the entry cost significantly.
