If you’re someone that doesn’t need the latest games at the highest settings, and that’s reasonable with so many amazing older titles to play and with lower settings looking good anyway, then you’re also someone who can save a fair bit of money by going for an less high-spec gaming laptop. It’s a great way to dive into indies, older AAA games, or even retro titles, and no we’re not going to go into what the encompasses anymore, it keeps moving forwards and the psychic damage it inflicts is unending.

Anyway, now that we all know that retro is definitely only the SNES backwards, let’s talk about today’s deal. The Acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop would normally cost $800, but is down to $700 instead thanks to a 13% discount on Amazon. It’s not an amazing amount of money off, but it’s a nice little saving if you were eyeing this laptop up anyway. The deal won’t last for long though.

Game On

The reason we’re talking about older games for this one is because it’s a little light on RAM. You’re getting 8GB here, which is enough for a lot of games, to be fair, and it’s DDR5 too, so you’re still going to get solid speeds no matter what you’re using it for. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 means you can run basically everything from last-gen, but make sure you check the RAM requirements for anything more modern, as some of those games are hungry. You’re also getting a 512GB SSD, which is plenty of space as long as you’re not looking to get Baldur’s Gate 3 installed multiple times over. To be fair, the game does meet the minimum requirements for Baldur’s Gate 3, so you’re going to have a lot of options.

On top of that, the 15.6-inch display is full HD, and it’s still got WiFi 6 compatibility for better download speeds, and a backlit keyboard to help you game faster. All of this means that you can comfortably work or study on this laptop with ease as well, and it’s nice to be able to do everything you want on it.

If you do want to get your hands on this laptop, and you want to get it while it’s down to $700, then we do recommend being quick about it. There’s no telling how long the deal will last for, and you’ll kick yourself if you narrowly miss out on the saving here, and we don’t want that.
