GameStop announced today that it will be closing 180-200 “underperforming” stores globally before the end of 2019, while then adding “a much larger tranche of closures [is] over the coming 12 to 24 months”.

Nintendo will hold out, but it’ll be very few actually made.

I would love this if I knew that it would mean consumer rights in the digital space would finally be updated the be comparable to the retail world, but we know it won’t. Hell refund policies are will the wild west for games and other digital content and seem like they always will be.
