The 2016 Halo World Championship Qualifiers Are Happening Right Now

Today teams from North America, the UK and various other places will vie online for a spot in the regionals and a shot at the $2 million 2016 Halo World Championship prize pool paid for by REQ-hungry fans.

The biggest prize pools are the crowd-funded prize pools, and REQ purchases since the launch of Halo 5: Guardians earlier this year have raised the grand total for the World Championships to $2 million, and my nephew hasn’t even gotten his Xbox One for Christmas yet. Once that happens, expect it to skyrocket well past $2,000,005.

Here’s a run-down of where to watch today’s events online. Right now I’m watching the UK series at Twitch.TV/Halo.

Several other regions have already held their online qualifiers, which will be running up until the end of the year. Then the winning online teams will meet face-to-face in the regionals,
