The Race Car Of The Future Is A Work Of Art

Remember earlier this year, when artist Nathan Dearsley tipped a sci-fi hat to one of the greatest race cars in the history of F1, the 1991 McLaren Honda? Well, McLaren saw it, then went and got him to do something more official.

The result of their collaboration is the McLaren MP4-X. It’s a wish list of future tech and big ideas, combined to form a concept vehicle that looks like the last F1 car to win a championship before they switch to zero-g hover madness.

If you’re into the fantasy/explanations behind all the tech on show, there are rundowns on McLaren’s site; otherwise, enjoy some of Nathan’s—who has worked on games like Crysis 2, Crysis 3, Star Citizen and Alien: Isolation—killer work below.
