The vast majority of students still wear suits or kimono, but in Kyoto, year after year, some students ditch the standard attire for, well, anything they like.
The graduation ceremonies for the Kyoto University and Kyoto City University of the Arts had some amusing cosplay this year.
Imagine sitting in an auditorium at the prestigious Kyoto University and seeing these guys walk past.

But, like I previously said and like you can see in the above photos, lots of people wear more conservative outfits, even at art school Kyoto City University of the Arts, where things would seem a bit looser:
